Wide-Brim Satin Sleep Cap

A soft cap with a wide elasticated brim, worn in bed. The brim is the part that matters — narrow-banded bonnets ride up and are on the pillow by morning, and this one is not.

Three different reasons to own one

To stop your own hair breaking against a cotton pillowcase overnight. To keep a wig in shape if you nap in it. Or simply to have your head covered and warm when there is no hair on it — during treatment, a bare scalp gets cold at night in a way nobody warns you about.

Be clear about the fabric

This is satin, not silk. Satin is a weave, not a fibre — this one is woven from polyester, and polyester is what keeps it under twenty dollars. It is smooth against hair and it does the job silk does at a fraction of the price. If you specifically want mulberry silk, this is not that, and we would rather say so here than let you find out when it arrives.

Care

Hand wash cool, hang to dry. Do not tumble dry — the elastic in the brim is the first thing to go, and the brim is the whole point.
